MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

It is once again time for our annual membership drive.   Memberships can be renewed by sending dues in the amount of $40.00 (payable to “Auburn Meadows Homeowner’s Association”) to Angie Ladd @17265 Creighton Drive.  If you have not belonged in the past, please consider becoming a member this year.  Although our expenses have increased, our dues have remained the same for the past several years.  Dues are tax deductible.

AUBURN MEADOWS HOMEOWNERS ANNUAL MEETING AND PARTY

The Annual Meeting for all homeowners will be held at the home of Claudine Steinfurth, 10809 Timber Lane, on Friday, June 27, at 7:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.  At this meeting, people will be informed of what the board has been doing and the plans for the remainder of the year.  Everyone’s input is important and ideas will be welcome.  However, only members can vote. 

After the meeting, a party will be held for MEMBERS ONLY.  Dues must be paid BEFORE attending the party.  Dues may be paid at the meeting.  The party is for adults only.  Please BYOB and an appetizer or dessert to share.

CONGRATULATIONS! WATCH OUT WORLD…HERE WE COME!

Two new happy and healthy residents have arrived in the Meadows this year.   

Congratulations to Holly and Jerome Smith on their new son Jacob Wallace born on January 7.  He weighed 6 lbs., 3 oz. and was 19 ½ inches long.

Congratulations, also, to Shannon and Paul Carlson on their new daughter Marian Laurel born on March 13.  She weighed 7 lbs. and was 19 ½ inches long.

BABYSITTING

There have been some requests for babysitters in the neighborhood.  Adult babysitters are preferred in some cases.  If anyone in the Meadows is interested in babysitting or is looking for a babysitter, please call Carol Ferguson @543-8377.  Carol will put people in touch with each other.

BLOCK PARTY

A block party is on the agenda for this Fall.  If anyone is willing to serve on a committee or help in any capacity, please call Christie Frenchie @543-5493.  More information will be announced at the annual meeting in June or be placed in the next Meadowlark.

LANDSCAPING SERVICES

Teachers’ Landscaping Services has once again been hired to take care of the front entrance and the cul-de-sacs.  Paul Carlson lives in the neighborhood and is owner of the company.  In the fall during the leaf clean up of the cul-de-sacs, Paul needs a place to dispose of the leaves.  Anyone living on one of the cul-de-sacs who is willing to offer their property for the dumping of leaves, please let Paul know @543-4149. 

Also, Paul is only authorized to take direction from the trustees, so if anyone has a request, problem, etc., please call Cathy Herold at 708-2553 or Galen Black at 708-0424.
Paul is offering a 10% DISCOUNT to all Meadows residents who employ his services.

NEW 2008 BOARD MEMBER

Each Meadowlark will feature one of the three new Board members for 2008.  This month, the member is Angie Ladd.

Angie has lived in the neighborhood for 5 ½ years with husband, Mark.  They have a 2 year old toddler named Jordyn. Angie also has two stepdaughters, Emma 15, and Lauren 12.  Angie is an occupational therapist and is employed by University Hospitals.  Her hobbies include jogging, scuba diving, and traveling.  Angie is hoping to meet some new people while serving on the Board.   Angie brings many talents to the table and is currently serving as the Treasurer.

If anyone has neighborhood news or wants information to be placed in the Meadowlark, please call Carol Ferguson @543-8377.  She will be happy to accommodate requests.

COMMUNITY WEBSITE

The Meadowlark will continue to be placed on the community website, in addition to it being delivered to the homes.  The website also contains pictures and other information from time to time.  Please post the web address www.associationcommunication.com/auburn.html in a convenient location so you can access it when needed. 

2008 HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION BOARD MEMBERS

Board meetings begin at 7:30 pm on the 2nd Monday of each month and are open to all homeowners.  If you plan to attend any of the meetings, please contact the host.  The next meeting is May 12 at the home of Angie Ladd.
